Laser hair removal
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Sensations depend on the treatment area and the type of device. Modern lasers are equipped with cooling systems, so most clients describe the sensation during treatment as gentle tingling or warmth. The DEKA Motus AX laser with MOVEO technology is virtually painless, even in sensitive areas.
How many sessions are needed?
On average, 9–12 sessions are needed for long-lasting results. Hair grows in cycles, and the laser targets hair in the active growth phase, so treatments need to be repeated.
The number of sessions is always determined individually and depends on the treatment area, hair type and colour, skin phototype and individual characteristics.
How long should I wait between sessions?
The intervals between sessions gradually increase. We start at around 4 weeks and then adjust them to the rate of hair growth.
To maintain your results, we recommend maintenance treatments as advised by your specialist.
Can laser hair removal be performed on tanned skin?
We recommend avoiding tanning for 7 days before and 7 days after treatment.
It is best to consult a specialist, as we take an individual approach to every client and tailor the treatment to the condition and individual characteristics of their skin.
How should I prepare for treatment?
1. Make sure you have no contraindications to treatment.
2. Shave the treatment area with a razor on the day of your appointment.
3. Come to your appointment without deodorant, creams or other cosmetics on the treatment area.
4. Choose comfortable clothing made from natural fabrics.
When will I see the first results?
The first results of laser hair removal can be noticed after the initial sessions. Hair gradually becomes finer, lighter and softer, and its growth slows down.
With each subsequent treatment, the amount of hair gradually decreases, and the results become more visible and long-lasting.
Maintenance treatments may be needed to preserve your results, in line with your specialist’s individual recommendations.
What are the contraindications to laser hair removal?
- A fresh tan or use of self-tanner (within the last 7 days)
- Pregnancy
- Use of photosensitising medicines and herbs, or retinoids
- Diabetes and epilepsy
- Waxing or tweezing (within the last 2 weeks)
- Active viral, fungal or bacterial infections in the treatment area
- Cancer and certain heart conditions
Electrolysis
How does electrolysis differ from laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal uses light energy absorbed by the melanin in hair, so the best results are usually achieved on dark hair.
Electrolysis acts directly on the hair follicle using a fine probe and an electrical pulse. It is effective regardless of hair colour, including light, red and grey hair.
We select the hair removal method individually, taking your hair type and skin phototype into account.
Who is electrolysis suitable for?
Electrolysis is suitable for all hair colours and skin phototypes. It is particularly recommended for removing light, red, grey and very fine hair, where laser hair removal may not deliver the expected results.
This method is also well suited to the precise removal of individual hairs, such as those remaining after a completed course of laser treatments.
Does electrolysis remove hair permanently?
Yes, electrolysis is recognised as a method of permanent hair removal. Successfully destroying the structures responsible for hair growth prevents hair from growing back from the treated follicle.
A series of treatments is needed to achieve the full result because hairs are in different stages of growth. Each hair follicle is treated individually, so results appear gradually.
